UEA Successfully Commissions and Completes First Bore with New Maxi Rig Spread

UEA has successfully completed the first - and has commenced its second – horizontal directional drilling (HDD) bore with a recently commissioned drilling rig and associated support equipment.

Not one to do things by half measures, the commissioning of the Australian made Gallagher HDD660 took place on the same project as the custom designed containerised DFE recycling system and refurbished Gardner Denver PZ9 high pressure mud pump.

Works on site commenced in late November 2016 with the first pipe installed in early January 2017 following the Christmas shutdown period. Currently on the second 657 metre bore due to be completed in the next few weeks, the drilling rig and support equipment are currently scheduled to complete a further 727 metre rising sewer main and 1,300 metre ocean outfall.

Congratulations and a big thanks to the hard work of our suppliers and staff who have helped to make the commissioning process effortless.
