The NSW Government is funding a $95 million, 1.5 kilometre upgrade of Old Wallgrove Road to provide a vital east-west link connection for the Western Sydney Employment Area.

UEA Electrical has been engaged by the principal contractor Daracon, in order to deliver the installation and relocation of Transmission and Distribution assets for the new road alignment.

UEA Electrical has recently completed a significant milestone on this project with the commissioning of the relocated 132kV feeder from Transgrid’s Sydney West Bulk Supply Point, to Endeavour Energy’s North Eastern Creek Zone Substation.

The scope involved in this portion of works included:

  • Installation of 23 new 132kV concrete poles up to 26m in height
  • Approximately 1.3 kilometres of transmission conductor stringing including OPGW for communications
  • Installation of 600m of 132kV cable and optical fibre into the Eastern Creek zone substation switch yard, including civil excavation, conduit laying and the extension of existing joint bay for 132kV straight through joints
  • Termination of 132kV underground to overhead (UGOH) Sealing Ends

Overall this is the culmination of approximately four months of detailed planning between multiple authorities, the client and the various UEA Electrical work groups and subcontractors.
