This project required UEA to install a new 312 optic fibre cable to upgrade the existing Optus network.
The location of the project was from the Optus exchange at Chicago Ave Blacktown to the final splicing point at Flushcombe Rd Blacktown.
The civil works required 780m of new conduit installation which was installed by means of trenching and in the residential areas Horizontal Directional Drilling was the preferred method.
The 6.7km of 312 Optical fibre cable was installed through existing Optus conduits and leased Telstra ducts. The project also required UEA to install 9 AJL – BJL splice joint enclosures.
