UEA successfully completes 510 meter 2% grade bore in rock for Hunter Water

UEA has successfully completed a 510 meter bore of 500mm PE through rock and coal on a 2% grade for Hunter Water as part of the Dudley/Charlestown sewer upgrade works. Positioned within the Glenrock State Conservation area and needing to maintain pedestrian access at all times, several difficult challenges were faced.

Works on the bore commenced in early March and the D300 x 500 was mobilised shortly after to begin the pilot bore. Varying strata were encountered throughout the bore including conglomerate, siltstone, mudstone, sandstone and an un-worked coal seam.

CCTV and testing of the pipeline has confirmed the constant downstream grade of the installed pipeline with no zero or positive grade along the route.

UEA wish to thank Hunter Water for the opportunity to complete this challenging project and look forward to working together on future projects.

After many months of planning the UEA Group has finally relocated from the Prestons office to its new premises at Southridge Street, Eastern Creek (just off Old Wallgrove Road).

The office and warehouse has been designed and built by the Goodman Group to specifically cater for UEA's growing business groups.
