Troy Herfoss wins two in a row for HMC KTM racing

August 25, 2008

Shawano, WI - HMC KTM Factory rider Troy Herfoss took home his second consecutive Premier class win at the third round of the XTRM/AMA Supermoto Series at the USA International Speedway, while his teammate, Chris Fillmore, finished right behind him in second.

With his confidence at an all time high, Herfoss lined up for the start of his heat (Heat #1) knowing he had the speed, skill and machine needed to take the win. He grabbed the holeshot and never looked back taking the win over Ben Carlson and Mark Burkhart.

Fillmore was up next in Heat #2. Just as his teammate had done minutes prior, he also secured the early lead and went on to win his heat over Cassidy Anderson. "I feel great today. Troy (Herfoss) and I have been training really hard this season and it's great to see our hard work finally paying off", commented Fillmore after his heat.

Herfoss and Fillmore lined up side by side on the front line for the start of the main event. When the light turned green, it was Fillmore who pulled the holeshot and led the first lap. Herfoss was right behind him in second. The two riders pulled ahead of the field staying nearly neck and neck the entire first half of the race. Fillmore held the lead until the eighth lap when he bobbled in a tight turn and Herfoss was able to make a clean pass around him. Herfoss took command of the race and went on to win his second consecutive Premier class win with his teammate Fillmore less than a second behind.

"Everything is starting to come together. My KTM was running amazing today and I felt comfortable on the course all day," stated Herfoss after his win. With three rounds down, Herfoss now has a three-point lead over the reigning champ, Mark Burkhart.
